BERLIN – Germany’s national team goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, will miss the test match against European champions, Spain, in Vigo, next week. Because the Bayern Munich goalkeeper is experiencing pain in his right knee, after Germany beat Gilbraltar in the 2016 European Championship qualifier on Friday (11/14/2014).
Neuer full play during the game when Germany won 4-0. But after the match, Neuer complained of pain in his knee.
Absence makes the German Neuer lost some important players. Earlier, Andre Schuerrle, Marco Reus and Christoph Kramer had already been absent from the squad Der Panzer. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Julian Draxler also still sidelined due to injury.
“I would love to play alongside my best team against Spain, but we did not want to take the risk to Manuel,” said coach Joachim Loew.
“We have two outstanding alternativ with Roman Weidenfeller and Ron–Robert Zieler, a decent play against Spain.“
